This portable solar panel is a very large fold up array. Much bigger than it looks in the picture and is capable of producing a pretty decent amount of power in full sun when angled correctly. As most solar panels, the key to getting the most power is that it has to be perpendicular to the sun and the sun had to be strong. The challenge with this panel is that it is a little flexible between the four panels and at the ends where the handles are. It can be somewhat difficult to get it to stand up, partucularly at a shallow angle that you need in the south, but when you do, it produced maximum power. It's definitely handy for camping and providing power to small electric devices, as well as recharging portable batteries back up for use overnight for things you need like you lights and medical devices. Well worth investing in the larger capacity instead of skimping on smaller panels. If you are going to set up something, best to have ample capacity.

I bought this solar panels mainly because I've had good experiences with my BougeRV portable refrigerator. I was a little hesitant because the only reviews were from people who got a free product. Setup out of the box is easy, just aim it at the sun and plug it in. There were a few times my power bank showed 104 watts on the input but after about 10 minutes, it fluctuated between 90-94 watts. My fridge draws much less than that. No worries of running out of power while at the lake. All in all, a good product.

I ordered this BougeRV 200W Portable Solar Panel because I wanted to learn how to put together a basic solar power station. At the time of this review I was hoping to have a LiFePo4 battery on hand to charge but due to shipping delays I had to connect my solar charger controller to a 12v DC electrical mockup I built for testing automotive components. Being new to the solar scene I appreciate how easy it is to set up this panel. The included directions explained the difference between the connector numbers provided with the panel. I did a little tech research on connector performance and decided to buy a 12ga cable with an XT60 connector to run from the BougeRV Solar Panel to my solar charge controller. The portability of this solar panel is what really drew me to it. All I have to do is fold it up and I can easily relocate it wherever I need it to be. I’ll use it in front of the garage to experiment with different setups. I’ll move it to the back yard to charge a mower battery or power some low voltage lights. When I want to go camping I’ll bring it to charge a battery or portable power station to keep my CPAP running at night. I tested the panel today by powering a Halo style backup light for a Jeep or trailer. Once I had the controller set up and connected to the load I connected the solar panel before unfolding it. I have learned that a big rule of safety with solar panels is to make sure it is not generating electricity when you connect it. There is a possibility of electrical arching which is very dangerous. The BougeRv solar panel makes this extremely easy because it just folds up. The little light I powered today only needed 11 watts of power from this big panel but I was so happy with my first set up. Everything worked great and I’m extremely happy with this solar panel. I think I’m hooked and I can’t wait to build onto this system. I have learned that BougeRv has built a good reputation in the solar industry. Based on my experience with their product I echo that sentiment. The quality of the panel and its portability make it a good value for the money. I will not hesitate to purchase their products in the future.

We absolutely love the BougeRV 200W Portable Solar Panel, and we primarily use this at our RV. From the moment I unfolded it, I could tell the build quality was excellent. The materials feel durable and well-constructed, and the IP65 water-resistant design gives me real confidence leaving it set up outdoors without worrying about light rain or damp conditions. It truly feels built for real-world RV and outdoor use. Setup is incredibly easy. I simply unfold the panel outside the RV, position the kickstands toward the sun, and connect it using the included XT60 or DC7909 connectors. Within minutes, we’re generating power, yay!!! The connections are secure and snug, and everything feels well-engineered and dependable. In terms of functionality, it performs extremely well. In direct sunlight, it produces strong, consistent output and charges our power station faster than I expected for a portable setup. Even on partly cloudy days at the campsite, it still generates usable power, which makes it reliable for extended RV stays and off-grid trips. The foldable design makes it easy to store in the RV without taking up excessive space, and it’s light enough to reposition throughout the day for better sun exposure. For a 200W panel with this level of durability and effectiveness, I find the price point very reasonable. It delivers excellent performance without the premium cost of some larger fixed systems. Overall, this has been a dependable, high-quality addition to our RV setup. It’s efficient, easy to use, weather-resistant, and cost-effective—exactly what I want in portable solar power.

I've carried around a couple set of monocrystalline panels on the back of my camper for a year or so, they are great for adding capacity to my roof charger, but they are a pain to store and being really rigid with the aluminum frame they are hard to pack and hard to setup. I really like these Bouge panels, they have a good handle that is not just nice for carrying them around but also mice to store them in my shop up on a hook. I only have one set right now, but I might be getting a few more since they are so easy to run in series with the MC4 connections. I have one campsite that we go to that is really shady, which is nice, but the camper gets hot in the afternoon even in all the shade. I have to run my panels about 100' away with a big 12ga extension cord i've got. When you're running that sort of distance on portable panels you absolutely need to be running them in series to get the voltage up, there's just to much resistance over the distance. Putting three of these in series would be fantastic and so easy to setup. The kickstands are nice to operate and when they are folded up everything stays nice and tight with the velcro enclosure.

This solar panel is rated at 200 watts and consists of 4 individual units that fold together. They are held closed by magnets in the handle. Each panel has a leg that is held closed using hook-and-loop connections. The two outer legs have a grommet for securing with your own tent stakes, and the grommets on the panel ends can be used to hang the entire array. Inside of the zippered compartment is a cable that has standard MC4 connections plus another cable that plugs into the MC4 ones to provide an XT60 plus a 7.9 by 0.9 mm barrel plug. The listing indicates the main cable is 8.2 feet long. It also has an IP65 weather and dust resistence rating and 16 busbars which means it will be a bit more tolerant of shade compared to those with fewer bars. Based on other 200 watt fabric encased panels I have, the BougeRV model has similar high quality and feel. I tested it with a voltmeter and found the no-load voltage to be 21.35 on a sunny late February day. That is actually above the 21 volts listed in the user manual. I then shorted the connectors into an amp meter and saw 9.92 amps. The user manual lists a maximum of 11.2 amps. I did not have a means to observe the watts directly, but if one uses the maximum power voltage of 18 in the manual, 18 times 9.92 yields 178.6 watts or 89% of the 200 watt maximum. For late February sun, that is excellent. I was also able to disconnect the MC4 connections using my finger nails against the projections. I appreciate when one does not require an MC4 wrench to get them apart.

This is my third solar panel from BougeRV and not because they're being replaced...they're great! I've added to my power system by sticking with what I know to work well. A portable solar panel is one of those gear upgrades that makes camping so much easier. Instead of rationing battery, you can top off a power station during the day and keep lights, fans, and device charging running without stress. This BougeRV panel is a 100W portable option made with monocrystalline silicon, and the listing calls out a weight around 6.9 pounds with a charging cable included. That weight is a sweet spot for car camping and RV use because it’s manageable to move around camp to chase the best sun. Value-wise, a 100W panel makes the most sense for people who already have a power station or who camp regularly. If you’re only doing one weekend a year, you probably won’t use it enough to justify the space. But if you do road trips, camp often, or like having backup power for outages, this kind of panel earns its keep fast.

I have other BougeRV products including one of their electric coolers that I bought last year and I'm always impressed by the quality and thoughtfulness of their designs. This BougeRV 200w solar panel is sturdy and well constructed. It's easy to unfold for setup and has a convenient carry handle built into the frame. I really like that there is a built in pocket to store the cables. The folded up panel can be tucked in a closet or storage area when you aren't using it, it doesn't take up much space. I live in an area that has fairly frequent power outages and bad weather, so I bought a power bank from another company and a 100w solar panel. I realized after buying the panel that a 200w solar panel probably would've been a better choice. This BougeRV solar panel is compatible with other name brands so I decided to try it out and am happy with my decision.

This 200w foldable solar panel is light weight and easy to carry. The two handles have magnetic closure and keeps the panel closed. There are four kickstands on the backside, and on each kickstand is a grommet to hang the panel up. I really appreciate the attached power cable with the additional connector is about 8 feet long to have room to position the power station. There is an additional power cord with the xt60 and dc7909 connectors. The panel folds up accordion style and is easy to store away. It was easy to position to get the most from the sun. I did not use the kickstand and leaned the panel against my truck. The panel is 200w and currently the power station is receiving 165w. No bad. It is easy to reposition and not cumbersome. The panel is made well and perfect for traveling and being off grid. I appreciate BougeRV products and this panel is going to get a lot of use on the road this season.

This is a quality piece of equipment. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work if there is any shade at all, which is typical for the technology. If there are any clouds or haze at all it reduces the output by about 60%.
